About MALhub - Nigeria's Grassroots-to-Global Tech Training Hub
We Started With an Idea. Now We Are a Movement.
MALhub was founded in Ilorin, Nigeria, in 2017 with a simple belief – that where someone comes from should never determine whether they get access to quality tech education and the chance to build something of their own. That belief has not changed. What has changed is the scale.
Over 15,000 people have trained with MALhub – from school-age children taking their first coding class to working professionals joining virtual programmes from across Nigeria and the diaspora. More than 150 businesses have been launched and supported. Over 1,000 jobs have been created. And a community of 50,000 has been built around a shared commitment to growing African tech talent.
MALhub began on the ground in Ilorin. Today, it belongs to everyone who believes that African talent – given the right tools, the right training, and the right community – can compete and lead anywhere in the world.
Our Mission
To equip children, young people, women, and entrepreneurs across Africa with practical tech skills, the tools to build real businesses, and a community that supports their growth – from wherever they are starting, to wherever they want to go.
Our Vision
A future where an ambitious young person anywhere in Africa – regardless of background, location, or resources – has access to the skills, support, and community they need to build a life and career in tech.
Goals and Objectives
MALhub works towards four clear goals:
Skills for Life
To train the next generation of African tech talent – with a deliberate focus on children, young people, and women who have had the least access to quality digital education. Whether in a classroom in Ilorin or a virtual session joined from London, the standard is the same.
Building Businesses
To support startups and small businesses with mentorship, workspace, funding guidance, and the networks they need to grow, create jobs, and contribute to the African economy.
A Community Without Borders
To sustain and grow a tech community that connects individuals, entrepreneurs, educators, and organizations across Nigeria, Africa, and the diaspora – with no geography as a barrier to belonging.
Partnerships That Create Change
To work with NGOs, government agencies, corporates, and international organizations to design and deliver programmes that produce real, measurable outcomes for real people.
